You’re afraid that if you let go of the rope, there will be nothing left to hold on to, and that fall scares you so much, that you let the rope cut you.
You’re afraid there is nothing there. That you will float like a particle in space and never reach a landing. There is nothing there if you let go of the rope, the hurt, the burden, the memories, the regrets, the fear, the excuses, the anxiety, the mother of sadness and papa rage. Haunting.
Fall, let go. Nothing is where you’ll find your peace. Empty land is where we plant seeds. Nothing has what you need, reach into the pot and grab it. From devastation, laughter will grow. Fall and don’t think about the landing or the falling. You are rooted but rotting. Uproot and begin anew. You are sprouting bitter fruit. Is that a good thing to you? What you have been through has been like a history teacher in the classroom of your life. How long do you want to sit in that class for? How many more months, years…
You are afraid because new things scare you. That’s okay. Start fearful. Courage will find you on your way. And brave one can’t you see? The first step in a new direction is the first step of courage. It is already in you. Fear has been stopping you. Let it now propel you.
